Green Leaders Email List
It can be lonely to be a green team leader at a congregation in even the best of circumstances, but with the pandemic many or our green leaders are struggling even moreso. Kentucky IPL recognizes this and have created a new green leaders email list we invite you to join. This list is a place green leaders in faith communities in Kentucky can share ideas, cheer each other on, ask questions, and be in fellowship together. Sign up here.
Bits & Pieces
Our Faith Leaders Advisory Network is continuing, offering faith leaders a place to learn about important issues and learn why these issues matter for faith communities. Our next session is Wednesday, August 5 at noon ET. Sign up here for connection information (you only need to sign up once!).
We are starting to utilize ourInsta account more regularly. Check out the beautiful images and inspiring wisdom our volunteer Insta team is sharing!
We are still looking for new Kentucky IPL Board Members. Fill out this form to nominate yourself or someone you think would be great.
We are looking for two specialty volunteers right now: Someone who can do a financial review for us who has experience doing so for nonprofits, and someone who can assist us with some grant writing. If you are interested or available for either of these opportunities, just respond to this email!
Beyond the Talk - The Louisville Earth Walk
Now with virtual options so that you can participate from anywhere!
The Louisville Earth Walk, a non-competitive community event including a live 5k walk, at-home participation and virtual programming, moves to Cherokee Park for its fourth year on Saturday, October 24, 2020.
We invite you to join in support of a city-wide vision where every neighborhood has safe and clean water, air, and soil. This family-friendly event will celebrate our beautiful planet while raising both awareness and funds for the wonderful organizations in our city that work to protect and improve the quality of life for all of us.
In light of the COVID-19 pandemic and in order to provide the best opportunities for the public to engage safely, we’ve incorporated more virtual components to our programming. This includes at-home participation and a walk course that allows participants to spread out along the course and follow current safety practices.
Safety considerations allowing, we will offer a live post-walk celebration including musical performances, poetry and some inspirational environmental messages as well as an "information zone" of exhibitors and a children's play area.
Proceeds will be distributed among our 13 environmental nonprofit organizing partners - each of which will be on site to provide ideas and inspiration that you can take back to your home, workplace, or community!
